Frequently Asked Questions

The Upper School classes will begin at 7:15 AM and dismiss at 2:30 PM.  The Lower School classes will begin at 7:30 AM (drop off begins at 7:00 AM) and dismiss at 2:45 PM.  We will offer a shuttle service between the Lower and Upper School. Younger siblings will be shuttled from the Upper School to the Lower School in the morning at 7:15.  Older siblings will be shuttled from the Upper School to the Lower school at 2:30. We anticipate class sizes to be around 25 students. Some will be a bit larger (physical education, for example), and some will be smaller (for example, honors, AP, and dual enrollment classes).

We are partnering with local colleges and universities to build our dual enrollment classes for next year. These classes will typically be associate degree-level courses one might take the first year or two in college. Examples include English, Math, Science, World Civilizations, etc. We will have some, but not a full roster of dual enrollment classes the 2023-2024 school year because our smallest grades as Valor Prep will be our 11th and 12th graders. As the upper grades grow, so will our dual enrollment offerings.

Valor Preparatory Academy will offer all the traditional sports for grades 6th-12th students. These may include basketball, soccer, volleyball, cheer, track & field, and cross country. Our lower school students will have access to intramural clinics throughout the year and PE as one of their “specials” classes. For questions and concerns regarding Athletics please reach out to our Athletic Director. 

We are looking forward to offering extracurricular activities and teams.  These programs will be student interest driven and announced when created.

If your child has an IEP or 504, they will be entitled to the services outlined in those documents at Valor Prep. Please be sure to provide that documentation as soon as you enroll so we can prepare accordingly. We will also offer speech and occupational therapy services as outlined in IEPs.

We are partnering with Olympic Transportation to provide cluster stop transportation around the area. Upon registration, families may indicate an interest in having bus transportation. Olympic Transportation will develop routes and stops based on the needs. Once the routes and stops have been determined, we will notify families.

We offer a rigorous academic curriculum that exceeds state standards and centers on a values-based education built on the foundation of our RAISE leadership program. Our Core Knowledge and Eureka Math curriculum strongly emphasizes patriotism and national history in grades K-6. Grades 7-12 will receive a full high-school experience, including entrepreneurship, leadership, financial literacy, and fine arts.

Our R.A.I.S.E leadership program integrates our core values into a curriculum that actively promotes leadership, with weekly lessons and daily exercises assembled from the works of prominent human development experts, like Stephen R. Covey, Jim Collins, and John Maxwell.

This curriculum allows students to develop leadership qualities and skills that will benefit them in the classroom, the community, the family, and beyond.

CKLA is our Reading/Language Arts program for K-5.

We also offer AP and Dual Enrollment courses at the High School level to enrich and challenge students.

Our goal is to keep families together. Your waitlisted student has a higher chance of earning a spot if the accepted sibling enrolls because waitlisted siblings of enrolled students receive priority. There is typically a lot of movement in the months leading up to the start of school, so your waitlisted child could be offered a spot before the beginning of the school year.
